Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some common questions we at Laurier Gift of Life often get from undergrad students! Be sure to reach out to us for any other additional questions that are not listed below.

  • Who is LGL?

    • We are Laurier Gift of Life, also known as LGL.

    • LGL is a Laurier club committed to spreading awareness and educating our community on organ and tissue donation and the impact it can make. We are asking every member of our community to register their consent for organ and tissue donation—it can be done online in just two minutes. We strive to lobby all provincial governments to make changes, policies, curriculums, and recommendations to publicly acknowledge, raise awareness, and educate their civilians about the lack of donors in their respective provinces.

    • Every three days someone dies in Ontario because the life-saving organ transplant they need is not available, yet just over 35% of Ontarians have registered their consent to be a donor. It is really surprising, and it is definitely not good enough. Especially for the 1,600+ people in our province waiting for organ transplants and the thousands more waiting for tissue transplants.

  • How do I attend LGL events?

    • Stay tuned to our Instagram and Facebook page! We are always promoting event opportunities!

  • How do I join the LGL team?

  • When did LGL start?

    • We became an official Laurier club in Fall 2020.
